The most humiliating procedure, EVER!

Yesterday, I dropped one of my best friends to the hospital. He has been suffering for a while from a Hemorrhoid, so they scheduled him for a surgery yesterday.

He was laughing and smiling bashfully on the way there. He knew exactly what was going to happen to him, when his doctor stopped using medical terms and started resorting to more "simple" English like "Crack it open", "stretch it", and "scrub the inside"

Now here's the funny part, my friend is actually a Medical doctor, he just didn't feel like medicine so he switched to the wonderful world of computers (dang after all those years).

We started talking about all the uncomfortable and funny positions he has to sit in after his surgery. And how he'll be walking around with a donut cushion whenever we had a movie to watch.

But coming to the details of the procedure, I just feel it's one of the most humiliating acts inflicted on anyone. Imagine, being in a room, with 5 or six people, all staring at your butt with little aliens being "scrubbed" out from it.

Probably the only thing that is sort of dignified is that it all happens under full anesthesia. Only to wake up to discover that you have been "cracked open"

Suddenly, I have so a lot more sympathy to the ladies who have to undergo pap-smear tests every now and then! The thought of prostate check crossed my mind. Gosh, why did these things have to be so embarrassing!!?

you also have to think of the doctor doing it, he's human too, and he usually has his only lunch break right after doing the procedure lol
This is exactly why I am not majoring in anything below the waist area!
I will not make a living of checking out other's behinds and private areas !

Yeah I got a prostate check once... totally humiliating but at least teh doctor had a sense of humor... a sadistic sense of humor but funny nonetheless.

He put his glove on and snapped it and stuck his finger in the air... looked at me and wiggled his finger and said, "why don't we get this behind us."

    Funny Jerk.

    hahahaha!

    dear god...

yes...very embarrassing indeed! my friend had to get one of those removed and i kept cracking jokes at him for about 3 weeks! god a good deal of laughs out of it!

hope they find some more "friendly perhaps ?" way to do this stuff!
loooool, I can't imagine getting even checked for such a thing, just imagine the view from top :s like doctors are all around the table and discussing a matter concerning your butt :s
سمعت بالحقنه؟ يلعن أبو الإمساك بس..
Pain vs. Embarrassment.... I'd embarrassment and anesthesia lol
