When a movie has George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and a ton others of the who's who in the Oscar arena it has to be great right?

    ... Wrong!

I wasn't very excited, or amused when I saw this flick that apparently depends more on the big names packed under it's wings. While lack original laughs or even suspenseful action. Watching this movie was like eating Tofu, completely tasteless and not even coherent most of the time.

Osborn Cox (Malkovich) is a retired CIA analyst who's having a hard time with his wife, who's sleeping with Harry (Clooney). Who happens to be banging every chick you see on the screen! Except his wife, but I guess he's preparing a "special" surprise for her so he doesn't have to do that!

The other character is Linda Litzke(Frances McDormand), a "Hard Bodies"(fitness center) employee who's obsessed with getting plastic surgery that she would go to any length to get the money she needs for the procedure(s). She's also looking for love online through a dating site but keeps getting frustrated after seeing (and banging) the guys she's matched with. That's all until she finds (and bangs) Harry.

Oh Linda, is also a friend of Chad (Brad Pitt), a goofy character who ends up becoming her "accomplice".

Anyway, the movie is highly incoherent. It lacks a lot of causality, a climax and a satisfying ending. With big names under it's belt you would expect much more, but don't! The movie is a tasteless attempt into comedy or action and it fails miserably in both

4/10 on the Qwaider Scale, opens 9/12

What's wrong with movies these days really. The ones worth watching are too few and far in between. It is like what's happening to music.

I watched Leatherheads and didn't like it !
Cloony just get back to doing your thing please ! :/ Political pictures and Ocean's .
I liked the movie. IT's very different and it has a few surprises.
Arrgh ... the commercials made it sound cool. Thanks for the warning :-)

btw, what's up with "banging" .. i feel you over used it .. is it something in the movie ?
oookay ... and how does this browser identify?!
How disappointing! I was really looking forward to it. Watching Brad Pitt play a loon is hysterical. I think his finest work was in "12 Monkeys." "GET OUT OF MY CHAIR!!" he screams. It's hilarious. Especially the way he makes one of his eyes point in a different direction than the other.
Not sure about the movie, but about Tofu, it's tasteless and watery only when it hasn't been cooked properly, or it's the wrong kind. My favorite seafood meal ever was made by a little mom and pop Chinese restaurant. It was tofu stuffed with fish inside, only the tofu around the fish is the best part. Unfortunately every other Chinese restaurant I've tried Tofu in, it was inedible !

After we got spoiled with a really great Summer at the movies, we’re getting more disappointed these days with the “lesser” productions

I gave leatherheads 6/10 but I didn’t find this one as good.

It’s completely subjective as you know. I totally and completely respect your taste. I’m really happy you enjoyed it. I wish I could say the same

Yeah, commercials, the sound track .. They’re all supposed to be the icing on the great cake. Sadly this was more like icing on a pizza! I use banging as a less offensive term than … you know what! :-)

    Za3tar#2
happy now? What were you trying to do?

    Marvin
    Yeah, sad…
How about fight club and Troy?

    Hani
Tofu doesn’t have any taste. That’s why it tastes like Blah! Totally. It’s tasteless and mushy. That’s the whole idea behind it
Now to give it taste (although that’s not easy, even if you soak it) people resort to stuffing it with stuff like pastries. If you try that very same dish with dough, it would have tasted even better because Tofu sucks!
I think your experience is influenced by something else, hunger maybe, or good circumstances. Oh and Tofu does taste better when it’s fried, but you have to eat it immediately after frying, It gets soggy in an hour or so and goes back to being, blah!
