The day that will continue to live in infamy, September 11...

I remember exactly what I was doing, who I was with, and how we all reacted, that warm September afternoon 7 years ago, as someone rushed into the room to say, you won't believe what's on CNN!

I was on vacation, in Jordan at the time, so I knew immediately that my vacation is going to be forcibly extended!

We sat there, in disbelief of what was going on, praying in silence to god that "It won't be one of our compatriots",  who did it. It was very clear what consequences are going to be.

Then followed the difficult times, the "random" screenings at the airports, the profiling, the visits by the FBI, the wiretapping, the no-liquids-or-gels on flights, the you-can't-argue-with-stewardess-or-you'll-end-up-in-Guantanamo-bay. Everything

That day, was the day when many civil liberties died... Many people continue to suffer it's aftermath, and chances are, the world will never be the same way again.

I will never forget that day ...

It was not done by islamist terrorist  tell me how can a bunch of people  living in a cave come out do about 5 weeks of pilot training And then SUDEENLY know everything about a boieng 747 or wt eva wen it takes real pilots about 5 years to learn it. it is a conspiracy all america wanted to do was justify there invasion in iraq so they could stock pile on oil and invade afganistan to they can get to the popey plantations so they can ship more to america so they can use more force to stop the drug trade which will bring in id. card and stuff and gradually they can find anyone in the world at one time what they eat, what they spend there money on its a ll a conspiracy. B ut as a muslim i feel sorry for the family's of the september 11th.
I still don't believe there are people capable of doing that. But I'm a firm believer of conspiracy theory (look-up lunatic). So don't take agreement at face value since that doesn't mean much!

that day!! who can forget it???
i recall it was still early in the morning, when hubby came home from radiation session and asked me and insisted on having the remote control for the tv...well, i gave it to him, no question asked...then he started flipping channels...then found one he wants...tower on fire...ok, accidents do happen in the skies...then a second one hit the second tower LIVE...now that is no accident!! u can hear the news cast screaming out of shock...i was frozen, thinking it was a joke or what...then we got a phonecall from israel, his nephew, wants to check on us in ca if were fine??? obviously we were, cuz it happend in NY, but then he said "No, they say in israel that SEVEN planes hit usa!!!"...that was weird, cuz no news was about the pentagon one and others till later that day...now that is strange!!
In the aftermath, I know Arabs working in the US who were really singled out both by coworkers and total strangers on the street.

Of course during the aftermath of the Amman bombings, I also knew Iraqis who were singled out in the exact same manner.

In moments of anger people do not act rationally.

I distinctly remember one American telling me all Arabs should be kicked out of the country immediately and never allowed back in. Look at it this way, any Arabs working in the US are always a couple of terrorist attacks away from ending up in a forced-labor concentration camp with their citizenship stripped, similar to any Japanese/Germans who were in US/Canada during WW2. I don't like it at all since my brother works in the US.

Haitham posted a link to a really excellent video on the subject (missing links):
    hxxp://sabbah.biz/mt/archives/2008/08/21/missing-links/

It’s 2 hours, and kinda one sided, but very eye-opening. I downloaded it and put it on DVD myself.

I don't think anyone would forget that day even if they wanted to. If they haven't witnessed it or been around to watch it then they'd be living through the prolonged consequences of it.

    Guys,
I still can't comprehend that you don't believe that Al Qaidah did 9/11. I sued to live in Port Charlotte, Florida just 10 minutes from Venice where the 2 qaida members got trained and went to flying school. It seems we love conpsiracy theories and we love to blame everything and every failure on Israel, it's true that UBL is probably living in a cave now but his guys are not.
Anyways, I moved to the US 3 months after 9/11 and I was never harassed by government officals or my co workers, I guess i was lucky
i remember that day too, i had a driving lesson and my instructor was extremely happy and celebrated the event. Very sad.

I still don't know what to believe about 9/11. BUT i don't think it was done as an excuse to invade Iraq or Afghanistan, i think if it was a consiperacy there's more to it than that.
