Roba is an awesome lady, full of life and energy. Every time I used to see her she would be beaming with smiles, and has a little shy-red-cheeks of joy or something! She would be super excited to chitchat, after all, there aren't a lot of Arabs in my town.

I was excited to take Maioush to introduce her, after all, they're of the same age, she might potentially be a good friends, especially since I considered her a quality person, she comes from my same original hometown Jaffa so, it's natural to introduce my wife to her.

Only this time, the happy-go-lucky sweet Roba was replaced by someone angry and pissed off! What the heck is wrong with women!?

What caught my eye with Roba, is that apart from the famous Jordanian bloggerette Roba, I haven't seen anyone spell the name with an "o".

I've been frequenting the place where she works for a few months, I would see her every few weeks, say hi, exchange pleasantries and leave quickly since it's workplace. We didn't have anything beyond that, we never talked, nothing. Just the courtesy of a good customer.

For some reason, Roba was pissed off last night. Maybe it was not even related to seeing us. Maybe it was, one thing is certain, people blow up matters way out of proportion at times. Not only that but some believe their own perception to the point that they build so much on it and end up frustrated or worse!

I guess, it's back to speaking strictly in English with sweet old Roba. As it turned out, meeting Roba, wasn't as nice as I thought it would be....

Oh well ... I gotta stop over-expecting. But apparently, I'm not the only one guilty of that!

    Memories....

I’m confused. I thought that you are living in Seattle, Washington. Since when Ruba, Oops Roba is living there? I don’t really know what is going on and I know that Roba had addressed this issue once before and she was never challenged about it because no body cared. I, too, thought that no one care, and unless you had mentioned it today I probably would have never entertained the thought about mentioning it either. But yeah, you are right I have no idea why Ruba insists that her name be spelled with an O rather than a U. I really admire Ruba, I have a great deal of respect for her outstanding intellectual abilities, and I enjoy the breadth & depth of her cognitive insights. She discerns life as if she has already been around for a long time, but to insist that her name ought to be spelled with an O is really asinine. Sorry Ruba but Samer made me do it; his post provoked me to say something I kept inside of me for a long time. Go a head and keep it spelled with an O but it is wrong.
Hatem, it's not the same Roba. But they appear to share the same spelling. It's unusual I know, but that's how they right it.
I didn't let anyone do anything ... come on man! She's free to write it however she likes.. ana Ma dakhalni ..
lol, I also thought you were talking about THE Roba, right until I got to the 3rd paragraph!
    Whisperer
This is not directed to Roba in anyway, shape or form. Why do you assume this? This is completely not related to her. In fact, I hold absolutely nothing against Roba in ANYWAY.. I swear!
Now regarding the Read life Roba that I'm talking about. I'm not talking negatively about her behind her back. True, she doesn't read this blog and no one knows who she is. But that doesn't mean I'm talking behind her back. In fact, there isn't much of anything between me and her. So there's no chance to discuss this.
That's why this is an observation of an event that happened before and after

I hope this clears it up

Ramadan Mubarak to you and the whole family too :)
