Then don't tell your friends about your blog!
It's plain and simple, having your friends frequent your blog means one thing. If you want to keep them, you really can't speak your mind.
I really miss the good old days when we were young and speaking our minds was really an option. Now, there's so much social makeup that needs to be maintained so all the prima donnas don't feel insulted by our original "thoughts"
Speaking of inflated egos, did anyone stop someone in the middle of praise and said, "actually, I don't deserve that, and you're only trying to fool me into liking you"?
I doubt anyone ever did that!
How can anyone speak their mind and not alienate themselves?
There's a reason why we can't hear other people's thoughts. It might have been a cool genetic mutation at some point where some people were able to hear other people's thoughts. Then Darwinism proved that it's a genetic dead end! There's no way we will like anyone if we could really hear their thoughts!
I might be going out on a limb here, but I'm starting to strongly believe that we are addicted to the little courtesies that we splash around us to make people feel good about matters. We pick and choose what we let people know.
You know, the more you find someone likable, the more they prefect this art of lying to our face. Unless you really suffer from "awesomeness"!
You know, I take that back! There are a number of great people who are truly and genuinely fantastic! It takes a lot of wisdom to really sift through the tons of pleasantries and courtesies to really know ..
So the answer is ... Keep your head above courtesy, and make sure you don't trying to hear what people really think about you.
Oh and keep your blog safe from your friends!
Memories....
You still speak your mind minus the names, granted you probably can't do it directly after some motivating incident so that it won't be too obvious.
I hate the whole meaningless compliments part of our culture, in fact when someone starts giving me one, I start mistrusting them by default. I don't say (actually, I don't deserve that, and you're only trying to fool me into liking you) as you suggested, but I do dismiss the whole line of thought, by saying thank you in a tone of voice that really means (cut the bulls***).
While I wouldn't want to speak my mind in every instance (it would be a great disadvantage to have my thoughts aired as you suggested). I also wouldn't want my actions towards somoene to be completely opposiute to my inner opinion of them. The only place where I allow a conflict there is at work where I try to be professional regardless of the circumstances although it is difficult at times.
In my case, my friends, my family, my co-workers, and even my boss have all ready my blog, so there's even more pressure :)
Abed:
I would make it clear to them that they are unwanted in a polite way.
Therefore, you can always have another blog to speak your mind and release the pressure.
I some times regret telling a certain friend about it but still , it is not that bad ! I can still write what's on my mind =D
i have to be polite, Innocent and perfect now :(
Thanks God that i wrote thing's about him so I'm sure he is not going to tell any one about it...lol
Maybe one day I'll stop caring and write what ever comes to my mind who knows :D
to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos,
I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!
) Great job. I really enjoyed what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
