Memories....
The magnifier?
The piece of mind that it's not being downloaded from some warez site? (happened to me 3 times)
Runs faster that anything I've seen so far (but don't take my word for it, try it yourself) even though it's still a beta!
Renders pages EVEN when firefox throws it's hands in the air and crys to mommy that the format has an extra ";"
) it cuased problems with windows, it crashed it, i had to uninstall it, i'm on winxp sp2.
i'm pretty sure its not my pc cuase it was a fresh install, so i don't know if that was a known issue or what, but i'm not sure if i want to intall this one.
I too had issues when I installed Beta1 and Beta2 and had to install it. But Windows has been up and running on this computer for almost 3 years. And with IE7, it's sweeeeeeeeeeet! It runs really fast, looks really great. And has support for everything I had in 6 (so far). So why not, I'd play with it a bit
On my Vesta machine it's slightly different. The menus are a little bit larger there (which I hate, because they're wasted screen space). But Vista Beta2 had IE7Beta2 instead of Beta3
Anyway, when analysing my traffic, I am already seeing around 8% traffic coming from IE7 Which is high on the heels of Firefox. Of course IE6 is astronomically higher than everything else
Another thing I didn't care for in the last beta was that it overwrote IE6. I don't use IE6 for browsing, but it's necessary to have around for development. I wish Microsoft would allow both simultaneously.
Today I installed Beta3 and its amazing; fast, reliable, enhanced user experience and much more... Life is good :)
I can't trust MS specially with beta versions, I think I will wait the actual the release, I can't tolerate more bugs :/
Dude, MS does software better than 99.99% of all software companies in the world. The problem is, no one's software is as widely used to expose all their issues
And I'm not talking about little players, I'm talking about mega corporations, Oracle, Cisco, RSA and many others. Being buried so deep in the software industry allows me to have a really high Bullshit radar. And the fact is, everyone sucks AS BAD AS Microsoft, the only good thing is that tier vulnerabilities are not known YET! They might be there, and people exploiting them without anyone knowing. But in Microsoft case, the whole world is testing
I heard from Very reliable sources that Vista brought down the Akamai network and that it was the most downloaded software in history. Not sue if this stuff made it to the media, but I heard from so many friends that they couldn't download it, on inspecting turns out the Akamai's dual 50GBps connections weren't able to handle the traffic!
In a year from now, we'll all be on IE7 and most will be on vista already
the problem with microsoft is the killing known vulnerabilities in windows 98, and the vulnerabilites in IIS. it's true, because it's widely used, so everybody knows the vulnerabilities, and even script kiddies can nail ur butt ! that's why those bugs shouldn't exist at the first place.
that's why i will wait the actual release of IE7, after people discover it's vulnerabilities, and Firefox is doing fine with me, I doubt if I gonna try the new thing :)
Windows 98!! 98 man .. are you kidding, that's 8 years ago. It's a miracle that it still works! As for IIS, 5.0 and 6.0 are seriously awesome. Just keep your machines getting the automatic updates and you'd be good
Here's why you have problems in Amman, PIRACY! that's the reason. Illegal copies that are not getting patched and updated... If someone didn't even pay for the software he's using how is he expecting support?
Anyway, I'm glad there are a bunch of competitors for Microsoft. This s the only way they can get their shit together and us (the customers) happy
What happened to the Pro-Microsoft attitude? Go get MSN toolbar and forget about Google's.
I hate Google!
The point I would like to make is Don't have preconceptions about the tool based on the manufacturer. Don't limit your options
Jxnc, Yes, Totally agree, thanks to Firefox, Opera and all others for forcing Microsoft to update the stagnant IE6
what you are doing is very similar to what our lovely government is doing everyday; supporting expats (An American in Jordan) and kicking citizen asses; and this happens under the name of Privatization and investment, I wonder what was the bribe you got from Dave?
:D
Now tell me I'm negative :p
