I've always been a fan of Google Toolbar, it is the perfect addition to every browser. What it does is fill in the gap left by browser developers. The latest beta bar from Google, has some new awesome features, and some even these two PMs forgot to mention. Check out this video and then see the most important feature they forgot to mention

Sure it comes with the ever so useful spell checker. Google other less useful gadgets integrated (Notebook!?),and possible more useful ones (Youtube, Maps...etc) not to forget the ability to add your own

But....

Here are the most important features to me

1) Better integration with IE8 with WAY less bugs
2) (and this is the best) Firefox-like search at the bottom of the browser window!

I think Firefox in page search is awesome! Having that same functionality in IE using the Google tool bar is AWESOME

Finally you admit it, instead of downloading Google toolbar, how about switching to Firefox :), ba3ref inno mosta7eel bas ma betor il mo7awaleh, w khaberni sho akhbar IE8 lessa m3aba bugs ??

i still see no use in it.

"Oh Noes .. it allows you to search the internet right from your browser's toolbar!! ... yeah .. it's not like every popular browser on earth has this feature"

LOL! No man, you have the wrong impression about me! I use BOTH IE8 and FF3 all the time. If I'm not on one, I'm on the other! (If you own a websites, you just can't rely only on one because you don't know what people are going to use)
Google tool bar still has some good things even for Firefox. Translate and a bunch of other things worth checking out

As for IE8, it's getting soooooooooo much better! Even in native mode. It renders correctly and just works. Unlike FF with all it's flavors it does things right :) (like Back will actually POST the freken form instead of retrieve a cached version) anyway .. they're both getting better

Google toolbar does other things like highlighting text and searching in the page. FF and IE don't have that yet (right from the search)
But I see where you're going with this and I'm positive the browser of the future will most definitely contain all of this stuff from the get go.

I've tried it an several other toolbars and always end up uninstalling it because it takes too much real estate on my browser in return for what it gives in return. Plus almost all that functionality is available in FF (like spell-check, highlighting, search as you type) thorugh other means. I have 33 different search engines on a search control 3 cm. wide. IE added the ability since IE7 of course, but it's not popular enough as the mycroft project which has a ridiculously large number of sites you can add to the pre-built FF bar.

What I'm really waiting for from google in general is a mobile phone applet that allows using google earth on the go. Yes they already have one, but it doesn't allow the full functionality of the desktop google earth. It only shows the streets. I want my landmarks and locations. Some guy went and created an app to do this, and google asked him to cease and desist or face legal action :(
