There's nothing fast about it! It took me exactly the same amount of time to prepare a steak at home (from scratch) as it takes me to go to a fast-food joint, order, and get my food. It took me less time to cook a steak than it would take to have a Pizza delivered!

We all love fast food, saturated with Yummy fat, bleached white flower, sugars and tons of sodium! Look these up under the obituary section of your news paper. They are killers. (of course, everything in moderation is OK)

A single Whopper, is 790Calories! That's almost 4 Steaks! FOUR! FOUR Yummy steaks! Surprisingly, It's costing almost as much as a decent 8oz Top Sirloin steak too! Although, the kind of junk that goes in the making of a burger wouldn't be worth 35c.. But that's how they make their money! From the underdeveloped taste-buds of the taste-challenged young generation!

And then, it grows as an Addiction

I can't deny that I love to indulge in a decent burger from time to time, but I will be the first to admit that it's VERY wrong!

More recently, I've been enjoying a whole different world of "a bit faster" food. I've been getting more fish, less red meat. More Quality red meats, less processed/ground junk. Namely, burgers! And way less Pizzas!

I hate these two, they are the source of all evil. Tons of saturated fat, tons of carbs, the kind that gets in your body and never leaves except with 16 hour a day trips to the gym!

If there is anything you can take out of this, Just consider this... If you have the meat cravings, cook a steak in the oven with some nice dry rub seasoning. Make a baked potato in the Microwave. Or just make a nice yummy sandwich

Your heart and waistline can thank me later!

    Some thoughts on the issue:

A single Chipotle burrito has 1250 calories ! ( You can check it out on their website ).

Normally you would order french fries (freedom fries ? lol) and a soda or milkshake along with your burger. So a meal like that exceeds 1000 calories.

the problem with burgers and sausage, weiners, brats...etc is that you don't know which part of the animal it is taken from. It is basically compressed parts. While when you cook your own steak, you get to choose the piece.

Just my two piasters on the issue.
Actually I know which part of the Animal they come from! And you REALLY don't want to cook that at home (Chuck) this is the cheapest part of a cow, toughest and basically worst! People don't buy this to use even for stew! Additionally, it's tasteless and needs a lot of spices (and sodium) to give it taste.
Anyway, add to that all other meat sources that would otherwise be thrown away from the bone marrow to ears, eyes, tail, stomach antisthenes ...etc. Ground it, process it, add Red#6 and Yellow #9 and now you have a Whopper patty or a Big Tasty piece of junk!

Anyway, with the prices going up this much at fast-food places, it's becoming even more prudent that people switch to home made health food.

i love the fact that i havent had a fast food meal for a while!
i dont think i can take it anymore :S
    Hardeez is callin!
I loooove the not-so-fast food, I lived on in-and-out burgers for a few weeks, every night i'd get three double cheesburgers, each had 1000 calories minimum, then i really had to stop, but oh god i love it to death
My definition of fast food is instant noodles. I don't crave for burgers, pizzas or fries. But instant noodles, is mmmmm. There are also the "no trans fat, no msg" types :D

I made the switch a long time ago but I do crave a triple-extra-cheese double whopper or a double-quarter pounder with double cheese burger every now and then.

Since the switch though every time I indulge in fast food my stomach has a hard time and wants to vomit!

Question: isn't it amusing how you can put cheese on anything and it would taste great :D I am developing a habit of carrying cheese with me to put in everything - even rice and salads lol!
    Guys i am back...

i was on Vacation, in a communication less life...
and in that vacation i saw how to make the cows fatter in a very short amount of time... and really you don't want to know exactly how...
but after all the result is a meat that is basically Not meat according to biological principles but we eat it...

    Qaiwder...
    The Microwave is Wrong too...
it changes the molecules in our food... resulting a huge change in it which leads to a change in our cell structure
I do not eat burgers alot ... I don't crave them at all and I am on a meat free diet for  a month and um loving it so far ! we had a BBQ last night and it looked really yummy but I ended up eating bandora w basal mashwee  !!

    Good for you!

It's an addiction, I'm telling you. It has to be!

Instant noodles are not as bad as cheese burgers. The worst I've seen had like 300cal and it takes you at least 10 minutes to eat it. You can't just stuff your face with boiling hot noodles!
(I keep my office well stacked on these :))

    KJ
Yeah, I think it's awesome that you can put cheese on anything. But why not use a low fat cheese, it tastes as good and has way less artery clogging fat!
I don't crave the Double whatever anymore, I actually (and please excuse me for saying this) I get disgusted by the thought of double and triple stuff
I do crave a good burger from time to time. But I decided that I'm going to be making my own next :) Yes, extra lean ground beef with my secret spices and grilled to perfection :)

Welcome back old friend, it's been a while since I last heard from you
I've seen a number of documentaries on cows, now they're working on a genetically enhanced cows that produce double the meet without doing anything extra

As for the Microwave, actually, that's not true. Microwave works on the principle that it forces water molecules to resonate in their place, and therefore emitting heat that heats up the food we're eating. It doesn't change the molecules or anything. It's not like nuclear radiation, Xrays or even ultraviolet. It's even lower in wavelength than infrared. So it's very safe.

Meat is good for you, you can't just cut it completely out of your diet. This is how mankind survived for thousands of years. We need to eat, and we need good sources of protein and meat, happens to be one of the best out there! Especially for girls since it has massive amounts of iron for your blood
