I don't recall I was ever more offended than while watching this movie. As an Arab, as a Palestinian, as a human! It was so offensive I just couldn't stomach parts of it!

And just for the record HUMMUS is something ARABIC not ISRAELI! So put that to rest will you!!?

    Zohan and Palestinian hot chick

Now with that said, this is one hell of a damn hilarious movie, you will laugh your pipi off! But for an Arab, these are not free laughs. They come with a TON of guilt.

The movie is really hilarious. It's so funny that I really don't recommend it to pregnant women.. hmm... maybe I should recommend it for pregnant women instead of labour inducing drugs. It's probably better than walking and ... you know what! :)

Zohan is an Israeli "counter" terrorist super soldier who is sick of all the killing and hatred. He decides to go the US to become a hair stylist. He gets refused by Paul Mitchel (my favorite brand of of shampoo).

So he goes out on the street to find a job at hair salons, and end up, out of all places, at a salon owned by a Palestinian super hot chick! He then turns salon/brothel to a successful business, as the former enemies turn best friends just in time for them to stand against American capitalism. It doesn't get more outrageous than that!

It's not the first time I know of a Jewish guy getting married to a Palestinian woman. But this guy is Israeli "counter" terrorist and the chick .. well...... she has some interesting affiliations.

The sickening part was the amount of cliche's, the amount of lies, the amount of Israeli promotion. I mean, this could have been changed to 100% pro Israeli commercial.

Alright, I know it's supposed to be funny, and these are just jokes. But I couldn't believe how offensive this movie is on so many levels. But it was still so funny!

8/10 on the Qwaider scale, this is CERTAINLY going to be banned in ALL Arab countries but opens everywhere else on 6/6.

Damn you Hani, now I think I'm going to add a "Arab Safe" column to Qwaider Movies. This movie is certainly not Arab Safe!

    Memories....

I haven't watched the previews, but based on the trailers i had already made up my mind not to watch this movie as it seemed to contain alot of crude Arab stereotypes of terrorism and such, and i generally don't like to give my $10 to movies that promote that.

Based on what you saw Qwaider, does this movie conclude (or even mentions) that not all Arabs are terrorists ? does it overcome the negative anti-Arab propaganda ? in short .. should i go see it ?
On another note, regarding your note about Hummus ... i was shocked to find that on college campuses that Hummus, Falafel, Arabic pita bread, and even argeeleh are claimed by the Israeli clubs to be their own food ... i mean, come one .. they take our souls, our land, erase traces of our history, and now even our food ??!!
Actually it does, but only after it smothers it into cliched stereotypes and utter lies. And laughter coated bullshit, and a ton of Israeli promotion
so, you're saying that the "good conclusion" is so masked by the laughter that the general (american) audience won't get it ?

what's your final verdict ? should we go see it, or do a tit-for-tat as they did with the Dunkin Donuts "terrorist scarfs" ?
    It's really very offensive.
I can't tell you if you should watch it or not. But quite frankly, the words Terrorist and Arab were used synonymously. While Israeli and Counter terrorist were used interchangeably as well.
Ah i see .. i guess i will boycott it myself.
Hmmm, I'm a fan of Adam Sandler movies and his style of comedy, it's a shame to hear that the movie is offensive to us Arabs in the ways that you describe.
I guess you well not disagree with me that they are smart in terms of using the media to support thier case hopefully we well catch up one day

hmmmmmmmmmmm i dont know if i wanna see it..i like funny...but i hate offensive..but i am curious about it now...i think i will see it when it comes on dvd or vod..
I was waiting for its DVD rip torrent file to download...the movies seems hilarious...I love Adam Sandler this man is my favourite comedian..
I don't usually like Adam Sandler Movies, but I'll definitely watch this one. I checked on IMDB, and the actress who plays the Palestinian woman is half Morrocan. At least they didn't have a Latina play the role!
lol, I thought you were kidding. You really added an Arab-safe column!

    Two sides to this story:

    (A) - the situation (ie Arabs) has become silly enough it is the butt of modern jokes
    (B) - it's a funny movie just like the pro-American anti-Latino, pro-Mexican anti-American, pro-American anti-Cuban stuff. Comedy doesn't know countries nor religion these days - for better or worse.

that movie is being aired now on tv and even though its funny i could'nt and can't watch it and keep up with it with all the offensive jokes about arab, too disgusting and offensive and on the other side they picture israeli people as the peaceful brave people...IRONIC!!!!
if u r wondering wether to watch the movie or not i would recoomend to watch it for the one fellowing reason:so u can see how adam sendler (who was one of my fav's) and the american movie industry picture us arabian.
