A lot has been said, and will be said, about the most painful gem in the history of world. No single peace of land has been more contested in History. It' even proven that the very same land of Palestine was the same spot where two human species fought for the first time. The Neanderthals and the Cromagnons over 40,000 years ago.

The bloodshed has not stopped since then...

What used to be armed mob, fought and won battles against the united armies of the Arab nations. The bitter defeat left the world split. 60 years later, the Arab nations are still not fully recovered from the devastating blow. It wasn't the armed Militias that won the war, it was simply, our own failures

Our failure to assist the right way. But rather, looking at our points of strength to convert them to our greatest weaknesses

Our failure to forgive one another, to stand united, to overlook our pity differences and maintain view of the bigger picture. Or at least, forgiving with time...

Our failure to understand the rules of the new games. The wars being waged not in battle fields but in the back allies of the world capitals. In the media.

Our failure to realize that there are certain actions that should never be undertaken, no matter how desperate.

Our failure to realize that futile death is indistinguishable from madness, foolishness.

Our failure to realize that everyone, every single drop of blood, counts.

Our failure to remove the blindfolds of demagogy rulers that seek to please not the nation, but their own ambitions

We have failed. We failed the cause, we failed the nation. As Palestine continues to bleed under the cold hard boots of the military occupation. Victimizing it's existence as if, it's a sheep in an ocean of Arab wolves.

I would take a smart sheep over a million dumb wolf. Make that 300 million stupid wolves.

What hurts the most is that out of these 300 million stupid wolves, there are plenty of smart ones. But they suffer from ridicule, mockery, torture, oppression, unjustly arrests and killing for most. But expulsion for the lucky few. While the remaining 300 million end up with a bunch of imbeciles ruling the packs..

We will never forget our home land. The price of tile from my father's house is still his most treasured belonging, so is a little jar of Jaffa's sand, and my grandparents house key.

Both my parents were born in Jaffa, they lived there until they were kicked out but nothing more than fear, fear of the armed gangs of the Jews known as Hagana and Irgun, with thier reputation of killing, maiming, raping and stealing everything in their way, with documented cases of villages completely perishing for nothing more than bordering a settlement that was created by force on their own land. Dier Yasin. The story of the same systemic massacres reverberated throughout the Palestinian home land which made the simple families of Jaffa feel that they had no choice but to flee.. by which they have committed the biggest mistake in the history of Palestine..

Where did you find out about the Neanderthals and the Cromagnons ?

It seems like we're even more scattered now than we were then. Fadi recently made a sad observation that the colonials may have saved us all some bloodshed by dividing all the lands for us.

When you say it was a mistake to flee yaffa, would you have preferred they stayed and risk death?

They couldn't have killed everyone!!
Most of the stories I hear is that they were "lied to" by the Arab Nations.
While some other political forces (I think only the Palestinian Communist Party) at the time, agreed to the UN division. Then urged people to remain. They didn't convince many to stay...

For the Neanderthals and Cromagnons, this was just released in a Documentary called: Clash of the Cavemen. which aired Sunday May 11th. Where the anthropological scholars present fossil evidence that Neanderthals have actually fought and won in Palestine, only to be get extinct later on in Europe (almost 15000 years later)

These were the mistakes of generations of the past, sometimes i look at us today and i see hope, others i look and see the times have changed but the people haven't. However, overall, i am optimistic.

I agree with you Qwaider that we were lied. They (The English) encouraged Dad and his parents to leave Jaffa and promised them to come back to their home. It was our big fault to believe them :(

When Israel was founded 60 years ago, Israelis were confident that old people will DIE and the young generation will FORGET, we will forget where our origin comes from, what is our history; however, they were wrong, we could not forget, and those who died left us a legacy , a mission, what are we doing? It might be insignificant, we might be just writing words, reflecting emotions, but what matters that we still have feeling and emotions, we still feel sad for our loss, we are still bleeding when we remember our history, the "Nakbeh", even after the 60 years, we could not forget and we will never forget, I hope that our children will not forget too, I hope that we will be able to feed them the love of Palestine, I pray to God that they will be better, stronger and make a difference, and I do hope that they will teach their children the love and the respect of the country we lost, even if we are not living there…

Samer, whether or not it is the biggest mistake done in Palestine, you can't truly hold it against them. Their choice was either to flee or be killed. If they had stayed their ground and got killed, ma 7adan feeh yefti with what the outcome would have been - hay 7ekmet rabbak. They saved themselves and gave birth to newer generations and more people to uphold the culture. If all Palestinians stayed inside and all got killed, they'd exist only in history books now.

Your very presence here is enough proof. Think of how much you have changed the people around you, physically or virtually, the online community, etc... and what might have happened if you were not given the chance to be given birth to.

We don't choose our parents and we don't choose their actions, even if we end up suffering the consequences. What we do have a choice in is to either burden ourselves and let it hinder our progress or stand up and march forward to make things better, for us and for generations to come.

The world WILL change a person at a time and we're facilitating it with posts like these.

we cannot judge our forefathers for fleeing... they had literally been left with nothing else to fight with. The horror they faced was unimaginable and they werent to know that there would be no return. They honestly thought they were on their way to the west bank to regroup with the arab armies that they thought would show up and help them.

As I recall correctly, Palestinians were living peacefully before Israel decided they are God's Chosen ones and decided why not kill every single human on Earth, starting with Palestinians.

It is you people who chose war instead of letting Palestinians be. It is you guys who are dividing the whole world and making more wars, ruining most economies, and wreaking havoc with the US backing you up.

1) The Jews did not commit genocide in Palestine. Arab population increasing 6 times in Israel since 1948 is proof enough. (remember, when genocide happens the population subjected to it decreases, and often, disappears)

2) The only racists in here are Arabs who don't allow Jews to live in North Africa for example, where Jews lived long before Arab armies swept the land in 6th century C.E. Jewish state grants equal rights to its Arab citizens.

3) Keeping grudges, calling Jews "the ones who have God wrath upon them" and promising to destroy Israel exposes your own genocidal intentions.

1) The UN has documented cases of mass massacres in Palestine. The Arab population has been subject to all sort of atrocities, let's also not forget the 750,000 documented refugees pushed out by force from their own homes. An act of genocide by UN definition.
The population didn't increase because of the occupation, but despite it!

Thanks for your response Qwaider. Here are some answers of your questions:

1) About 28% of Israeli Arab youth volunteer and serve in IDF. Many of them fought bravely against Hisballah in the 2nd Lebanon War for example.

2) There are 12 Arab members in current Knesset. Total number of Knesset members is 120.

3) A minister of culture and science in Israel today is Muslim Arab. This is the ministry that controls Israeli space program

4) Last year Majali Wahabi, who is also an Israeli Arab, was an acting President of the State of Israel.

5) Arabs and Jews did live in peace for long periods of time. Golden age in Spain being one of them.

6) Arabs and Jews are actually relatives and genetically probably very similar people.

7) Arabs and particularly Muslim Arabs are far more racist and genocidal today then the Jews are. There is not a single Jewish group that calls for destruction and murder of all of the Arabs or even a large group of Arabs. There are many Arab organizations, mostly Muslim fundamentalist ones, that consistently and publicly call to murder either all of the Jews or a half of them who happen to be Israelis.

8) Although I do understand your desire to get all of the land of Israel, which is also called Palestine since Roman times, I do believe that this a recipe for war and genocide (which any sane person, including You and I should oppose).

All or nothing approach preached by Palestinian leadership and followed by the people leaves Israeli Jews no other option, but to fight for their very lives. And this is a sad reality of Jewish – Arab relationship today.

In my opinion peace and prosperity will come when, Arabs, who are by far the larger and more powerful group the Jews, will decide that they want it and guarantee safety to the Jews and Israelis alike.

By the way, Torah tells that the Arabs will repent and leave in peace and harmony with the Jews. I hope this time comes soon.

I'm not trying to place this at an impasse, but Druze are generally not considered Arabs and have betrayed Arabs on just about every possible cause. They have allied with the Israeli occupation against their brethren and ended up being welcome in the IDF and in the Knesset. So that number (28%) is highly inflated and inaccurate

Second Majli Wahbi is also Durzi. Someone benefiting from the system, he also served in the IDF, probably helped kill other Arabs while he's At it! Druze under the Israeli occupation are exactly like Lahhoud Army of Mercenaries in southern Lebanon.

As for Jewish movements asking for the annihilation of the "Arab Animals" don't kid yourself, read your own newspapers! Also, listen to the mobs chanting "We don't want Arabs". While others were calling for Nuking places all over. Let me give you another hint: Kach!

Arabs are not necessarily more or less genocidal than anyone, besides, you said it yourself, we're all cousins. So we must genetically be close in our levels of aggression. Especially when it's inflicted onto us, not the other way around.

Occupation is Illegal
Palestinian exodus is genocide
Settlements are illegal
Mass punishment is illegal.
Confiscating lands is illegal
Murdering Civilians is illegal

Fact: Israel used terror tactics on innocent Palestinians long before Hamas ever existed.

Fact: Israel continues to build illegal Jew only settlements on Palestinian land.

Fact: Israel arms its settlers, who routinely target Palestinian farmers with violence, while the IDF look the other way. The Jewish Hebron settlers are particularly violent.

Fact: In 2004 the International Court of Justice, in The Hague, ruled the illegality of the Wall and settlements, asking Israel to dismantle the wall. They also ruled Israel to pay reparation to the Palestinians for the damages caused by construction of the wall. Something I don't believe they have done.

Fact: Israel is in violation of numerous UN resolutions.

Fact: Israel continues their blockade on the people of Gaza. (which is an act of war)
