So my friend the Imam, who basically leads everyone in prayers. Decided to poach one of my workers. Yes, you heard it right, he stole a worker right under my nose and what do I "the condemned infidel" as some say, do? I decide to let it pass although, I have the law, and the policy on my side and I can do way more than stop the deal..... I can get him fired!

But I just won't do that...

That's the tip of the iceberg!

My good friend the "imam" used to drag me from my office to go pray in the nearby mosque. A good thing, although it did cost me a few meetings here and there. But it's all in good deeds so, you know, I want my Hasanat scale to tip a bit since god knows my other side is too full! Although, I never consciously and deliberately hurt anyone, or any thing!

So I ask two people for a specific professional work related opinion. One guy is a non Muslim, but from a different religious group that also believes in polygamy. While the other person is my friend the Imam

Same question, two different people. "Would you support me if I take X measure"

The non Muslim, Absolutely, you're totally up to it, and have absolute authority and valid justification for it. I will back you up.

My friend the Imam, "You can't do it", "You must fix x, y and z before you do that", The policy says you can't even think about that.

I checked the policy and it said, "You MAY do x"

Two people, same circumstances, both involved with the very same technology. One is my friend, and the other is the non Muslim!

Well, I'm going to do it!

So now I think, when the hell did we become such a pessimistic, lazy, ethicless nation!!! When we used to be known for everything else!

I sure hope people don't measure all of us, according to the scale of my friend the Imam!

I stopped believing most of what Imams preach quite a while ago. My friend's dad is a surgeon and he had several cases where imams were rushed into ER with, um, things in their rectum.

Practice what you preach. Better yet, don't preach at all. Religion is becoming more of public opinion than what is right and what is wrong in absolute terms. It's good you're taking opinions from different people, but if you still feel you need another, pray estikhara.

    Allah eywaf2ak
I don't understand what you mean by stole a worker ?

Yeah, I need to pray istikhara weather I should punch this dude in the face or not!

    Hani,
    Look up poaching.

Its a real shame that we have to have some imams that are not being realistic and too extreme, But thats why in islam we can pray anywhere it is clean, and we dont need to pray al juma in a mosque. Although it may be more rewarding for us to do that prayer in a mosque, We are coming into times now where we cannot find an imam to even lead our prayers. The best advice if i were in your situation is to do what you think is right you can take a little input from both but follow your heart.I know nowdays we find islam in people that are not muslims -and we find horrible characters in muslim brothers and sisters, but  as long as you do what you think makes  ALLAH  happy with you al-hamdulehlah.actually istikhara prayer is a good choice when in doubt.
