Every single woman in the universe thinks she has male friends who are, well, just friends. Wake up!

Here's a quick refresher!

And that's not the end of it!

There can be friendship between "Women and men", the opposite is not true!

Women can be just "friends" with someone they don't feel they want to be intimately involved with. But men are not like that!

Now here's a cool thing about women, they always focus on how they handle a specific subject but not how others feel about it. So if she's not interested in having "it" with someone, then certainly he's not interested too..... WRONG!

Now, I actually commend women on thier intimacy rules. In fact, I think it's an evolution of the males perspective of, "If it moves... nail it"! Yeah, men are primitive like that. But, it's actually by design. Someone has to keep the fire raging or humanity would have taken another 100,000 years to reach 6 billions.

So to every woman who thinks she has "friends", wake up, if they had a chance to "nail you", they would!

This is such a great thing that it was mentioned in the Bible, and in the Quran. A young man who was invited to the bed of a pretty, rich, influential woman and he declined. Yeah, it's that big of a deal!

Now what about me? Do I think that way of every woman I know!?
I decline to answer that question!

Well, I personally believe that a friendship between a man and a woman exist, i mean really, you can be friends with someone you are not attracted to sexually, what's wrong with that? i have a friend for 8 years now, and the thing is, at least on my end, I am utterly not attracted to him that way, and i'm he feels the same way too, why is it so hard to believe? i mean we enjoy each others company, but we are like brother and sister, a man won't think of a girl that way unless she allows him to! it's not like that!! i mean according men and women can't ever be friends, with means that i have be careful of every every single one i know, including the people i work with!! come on man, it's really not like that! and I'm pretty sure that I’m not the only one who thinks that way :)

Dunno about that rule dude, either you're wrong/partiallyWrong cuz the girls I know KNOW that I am not out there to nail them (unless explicitly agreed), or I am an adopted alien (most likely).

Someone seems to be getting rather cynical in his dotage ;-) Seriously, though I think men and women can be just friends, I have several male friends who regard me as just as sister and would be appalled to even contemplate anything else. I think it's Arab men who can't manage the frienship thing...too damned hot blooded

For most people the best of friends are of the opposite gender, That is because they need a different perspective on matters that which makes them good friends. But surely there are the few that may take the friendship at a whole new level and take it far off into left feild , but then it wont be called friendship any more. For the few that do this, most likely they may not be able to withstand each other for a long time,so whats left is an upside down and awkward relationship, To me it is far better to just stay friends and not try to get deeper or more intamate in your healthy friendship, coz you may loose that- for a few days or weeks of desire based crap.

Hani, with a couple of exceptions, I didn't have that idea cross into my mind... unless I misunderstood what you were saying!

But if people were able to read my mind I would feel more liberated as I am often misunderstood haha. However there are a couple of things I would worry about being projected LOL!

You are not getting the point, friendship between Women and men exist, but they don't exist between MEN and women
Now, your side, doesn't matter. It's his side that I am talking about! I'm a guy, and I know how most guys think!
And yes, the woman defines the borders! Although, many men will hold thier horses because, they know things go crazy the minute thier true intentions are revealed.

That's not necessarily true. Most people have best friends of thier own gender because there are certain things that you will only feel comfortable discussing with someone like you who will sympathize with your issue because they're like you! You can have close friends of the opposite sex and that's normal. But not best friends .....
Now, why can't there be friendship that mixes a little bit of "that"? It's a totally male concept I know. But men have no problem doing it with someone and then continuing as thier friends! Which usually drives women crazy :)
Again, it's YOUR OWN perspective. Trust me -many- men would take a good lay over any female friend they have.

KJ, sorry that was too brief. I had made the other half of my comment on Maioush's blog because as she mentioned, she wrote a related subject a couple of days back. Let me expand.

I meant that just because we think about a woman in a sexual way does not mean we act on it. This is what distinguishes us from the animals. We can control our instincts. So in the final analysis, I was certainly not "out to nail" as you put it all the women I've known, despite the fact that a part of me wanted to. That part doesn't make the decisions. In fact the older I get, the less say it has on the matter!

What is more significant your actions, or your thoughts ? Your thoughts are in that sense just a theory. You may think of a woman sexually but treat her as nothing more than a friend.

I think the sexual reaction is something innate, if you see one of your so called "female friends" scantily clad, are you not going to be aroused ? Of course you are, you may just decide not to act on it.

Maioush thought of platonic as a male female friendship where neither thinks of the other sexually. I disagree, it is a male female friendship where they both decide not to act on their sexual instincts.

I sort of agree with you and Maioush as well. Yes, thoughts and actions are separate in the sense if you isolate a specific line of thought from another. Action based on logic is a consequence of a thought. Ya3ni here you are sitting in front of this hot woman. Your instincts tell you go for it, then it is up to you to debate. Should you? Should you not? You can pretty much justify both decision, however your sexual desire will have a say in one and not the other.

I agree with Mai that you can have a male female relationship with no sexual connotations. I agree to a point because there is always a point in a relationship between members of the opposite sex (or same sex, for the other population) where you may consider taking the relationship further, sexually or otherwise. These things need a trigger, perhaps at a time of desperate need and comfort? A point when the other is weak, or you are weak, and the other has to act strong?

There is definitely an attraction I will not deny when there is some void is being filled by the other part.

Anyway my time is a bit short cuz I need to be on site, but please continue! I will get back to reply soon.
