I don't think there's anything in this whole universe that packs more potential energy than a the simple promise!. It's mind boggling the lengths people go to on a simple promise! Some would go to the ends of the planet just on the hope of returning to someone who will fulfil that promise

Things that people hold near and dear are no match for the power of the promise!

Just think of the amount of time people appear to overwork on the promise that they might get a promotion. Or that they would land their dream Job

Or the students who study 24/7 forgetting to sleep and forgetting to eat sometimes. Running not only on coffee, but on the promise that they will get good grades

Just imagine, how many suspects gave out their freedoms and signed their own death warrants on the promise that them might be released

How many girls have sacrificed everything dear, for the promise of love.

How many men sacrificed home and even life on the promise of riches!

And just how many young men sacrificed everything for the promise of immortality in paradise!

Remember, one of the most powerful of all the powers in the universe.. The power of promise...

    Memories....

Gayest post yet. Keep it up!
I Think this is hope more so than promise
Qwaider, I see you have a "fan" - kinda very "happy" like the one I have on my blog :D funny shit..

Anyways.. I hate broken promises, I rarely believe people now because they are empty ones.. reminds me not to promise people and go crazy trying to fulfill them
When someone says the word (I promise), my first thought is that they think I don't believe them or their intentions, and this means I should be more suspicious.

It's like when someone says (trust me) right before they swindle you.

If you really know someone well enough to trust their promises, then they wouldn't have to promise at all.
I never make promises. And I don't like it when people say "Insha'Allah" instead of saying NO.

Promises are only made to be broken. There is only few promises that are for sure, That is we will be born -and we will die.If some one makes a promise to you, be sure he is a liar. Never trust a promise, because it is only a way they are telling you indirectly to shut up. If some one says they will do something  for you or perhaps love you and care for you .The best advice is to just wait and see,  Because if they need to promise that- then its only words untill proven by actions. Words are of no use.

    Good one Hani

I don't have anything insightful to add here. Some people keep their promises, others don't, others use it to lure others, and the best are those who fulfill the promise before promising
These promises that take place, don't necessarily have to be explicit. Or have the "I promise" part. They can be as simple as a manger reassuring his employees. A lover saying I love you .. etc.
We still take these as promises and expect them to be upheld.

Maybe it is because we need this reassurance for motivation to push forward? Perhaps it is a survival skill in ancient times which was genetically passed down and transformed along the way.
