I've heard romantic phrases like "Those who love you will not make you cry". I couldn't think but, what a load of nonsense!

Not everyone who makes us cry is actually out to hurt us and make us suffer. It might be the very thing that we need. Someone to make us wake up and cry. Possibly to realize that we're dreaming and we need to get real at times.

In interesting clip in a movie provoked this in my mind. A student, was so frustrated with her marks in poetry and literature, she cried a river, and decided to move on to become a physician.

She turned out to be one amazing physician, and such a bad author!

Her professor, was the reason of her pain. Was the reason she cried and felt so down. She failed in her attempt to follow that specific major. Only to discover that it's really where she would shine.

Our teachers, parents, and mentors see these things that we don't realize. They can tell that we're not doing a good job in one thing or another. They might make us cry, but what does that give a sane person other than ammunition and greater resolve to achieve. Either proving that they're worthy of what they're doing or seeking success in an alternate path.

Sometimes, that's exactly what people need. To reach a point where they will admit thier defeat, and seek something else that they want to do. Or admit defeat and try harder. (More in The three laws of Reform).

Our mentors, teachers, parents and friends help us realize the areas where we need to improve. They can help us identify issues that will stop us from being successful in a specific discipline. They might make us angry. They might make us cry. It might turn out to be the most painful thing to undergo; to let go of one's dream

But that might be exactly what we need to succeed!

Qwaider, not everyone who makes us cry is out there to make us suffer, that's right. It is for our own good in the long run, assuming they know better.

Looking at the other side, even the people who make us cry because they are out there to hurt us - if taken in with a positive attitude - can actually turn it out to be beneficial.

Each tear makes us stronger, more resilient, and wiser (hopefully). The best outcome of crying though is that it trigger the happy hormones and you'd generally feel much better and lighter after it.

Then you'd look back and tell ask yourself why the heck are you crying. I think I am closing in on a point of defeat regarding some issues but I have enough adrenaline for one final leap of faith :D wish me luck!
and you wonder why google adsense puts gay ads on your blog...
i beg to differ. last time i cried was in august 2004, and it was coz of my loved one. im not much of a crying person, but if and when i do, its always related to him. whether tears of joy, or sadness, its never anyone else. my tears r too precious to be wasted on the rest of the world..
    So true ! good post : )

EVERY EVENT IS SUBJECTIVE, ITS NOT WHAT IT MEANS THAT MATTERS, ITS WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU.

    So you're your best mentor?

Totally. What makes us cry makes us stronger

Aug2004! You're long overdue for a good relaxing cry... :)
There are strong people who don't cry, or at least they try not to show that they're crying

    Thank you my dear

Emotional is good. I am a very emotional person. Logic has it's time, and feelings have theirs

Yes every event has it's own circumstances. That is true, but a wise person would learn from thier negative experience
And, then there are some people that console us, when we hurt badly and are crying, like, this gay man, did once for me.He, to me is a real Mensch, and nobody will ever be able to change my mind, of what I think of him.
    now here is the thing:
those who love won't make you cry, they can be honest with you, they care about you, and they love, they can tell you the truth without hurting you.
about that professor Q, that's another story, i don't really think that he really cares, she was bad, and she found out that she pretty good in another major, it's totally different my friend, if i love some one i will do anything not to make them cry, but that's me :)
