Previewing - Prom Night (2008)

The movie opens on a the horrors that a high schooler have witnessed in the past. A mentally insane murder chops her family to pieces as she witnesses. He apparently had a thing for her. The movie follows as she and her school mates go through prom night and the horrors they will see at the hands of this mass murderer

The movie will certainly get your heart racing, and your blood pressure up as you brace for the next suspenseful killing. Only the amount of sheer pointlessness covers the screen with a think skin that hinders the joy of watching

The movie progresses into a cheesy high school prom with all the slow motion going down the stairs to the interestingly and provocatively scantly dressed prom chicks. One thing keeps popping into my mind, didn't they find anyone younger that the folks in the movie!? The guys looked like they're 30, the girls, 25 easily, come on! Could anyone do a more horrible job on casting a movie like this?!

And prom night red carpet reception with people gathered on the sides, why!!?

Even worse, the fire Alarm is going off you,
(a) Use the stairs, (b) Use the elevator to go to the 3rd floor
(a) You run the hell out. (b) You go to your room to grab your unlatching scarf?

If you answered anything but (a), then you're too stupid to be left alive and you really need to be the first on the slit-throat line. Instead of wasting the life of 10 of your friends, not including your parents.

The movie fails to capture the mix of Psycho vs Scream feel and delivers a cheesy, tasteless prom night thriller that is neither memorable, nor romantic. Oh and on the scary part, the crowd was laughing more than feeling scared, in fact they were laughing at the sheer outrageous silliness of the movie

And my verdict... 3.5/10 on the Qwaider scale, this is going to be a major flop at the box office. Just like the scores of other B scary movies out there. In fact, there's not a single memorable event in the whole move except .. yeah well, the prom!
