How do you tell someone that their blog sucks?!

Alright, I read many blogs on a daily bases. Sometimes I come across blogs that are completely worthless! Seriously, a complete waste of the electronic charges that they occupy on some server's hard drive. But how do you break the news to someone that their blog sucks? That's a pretty tough one!

Blogs are almost like self sufficient plants, you give them water and nutrients, and they flourish. But not all plants produce flowers, and not all flowers turn to fruits.

It bugs me when these, worthless, blogs are for people who have been around for years! They stand as a monument of what was once, a half decent blog.

In the early days of blogging, these blogs were able to linger. With no content, and barely anything interesting. Even though, they might be the brain children of very interesting people. Yet, they failed to capture the beauty and glitter of their true selves.

What do you tell these people!? How do you break the news!? I wonder if someone (or many) thinks the same way about my own blog. Chances are, there are many who wish to see me (not only my blog) disappear off the face of this planet! Or, maybe I'm not even that important

What ever the reasons, it's really difficult. What ever. I think there are many blogs that are increasingly on a decaying orbit, and sooner or later, they're going to have a rude awakening as they crash and burn in the atmosphere! Or, maybe they'll just power down and just ... stop ticking... to be in the vast coldness of space!

What ever it is, I have one advice to everyone, if you really have nothing to say, if you really really don't feel like writing anymore. Then take sometime of.. Or transform from an addicted blogger, to a habitual, or even occasional blogger... There's nothing wrong in that.

For the rest of the active and cheerful blogosphere!

    Happy bologging!

Ach come on Qwaider, We know you are braver than that :D I know you have no problem in telling someone their blog sucks when it does from your own point of view, this shouldn't be hard with your frankness ;).
Also, no one is forcing no one to read any blogs. you can simply stop reading what you find un-interesting.
how do you tell them? It is easy. Just tell me who you have in mind and I'll break the news to them. I will be nice.
ana 3an nafsi im blunt, rather very honest! i say it as it is so i can say it in someone's face, but some just need a space to vent, why wud i deny them that? inno i pity them.. a blog reflects one's life, or their alter ego, fa akid they both suck to produce such a worthless crappy blog!
I agree with MD, no one has to read anything, we pick and choose. besides some bloggers don't care about who reads their blog its just there for them to express themselves.

On the other hand if you respect someone and you see that their blog is taking a wrong turn, I find it a nice gesture to send them an email about it.

I am the typical Arab who avoids being the bad news messenger :) again the automatic reply would be: Don't read me then!

    looool mab3oos, he3 he3

Qwaider, nothing is wrong with your blog and nothing is wrong with you. Hate mail is normal; I am sure I have as many people who want me dead as I have fans.

Cheer up mate, if you find a blog unworthy, no one forces you to read them and RSS has a nice unsubscribe feature!

I stopped wasting time on blogs I don't find worthy so I have more energy to comment on those blogs / posts that are worth my time!
    You don't.

It is nobody's business to go around judging the quality of people's blogs, what a person does with his blog is his business alone, be it good or bad that is their choice and their prerogative.

If you like a blog, read it, if not don't read it, simple as that.
Telling somebody that his/her blog sucks serves no purpose what so ever.
Its like coming up to people on the street and telling them: "hey i think you're ugly".

    That is all :)
I really don't have much to say on this.
However i noticed that the first commenter "MD" also uses SuSE OS, so i want to add a "comment" so there'll be 2 entries with that OS logo, not too often that you see that on Arab blogs :-)

Well, if you have some specific points, you can look for a contact ,e age and send t to them there...
If not, well, just ignore and pretend they are not here!!
After all soem people are really 2arfaneen and use their blogs just to empty some of that load in their chests... some people have alot of crap inside (not from themselves, from circumstances and life around)... so if they do not emty it in their blogs, carrying it in their chests might hurt them!! or get them rotten!! 3njad ba7ki!!!
when we are not able to carry the ugliness inside us, we might need to pour it...
so if you don't like the content just ignore...
    elfada2 el cibiri byusa3na kollna man ;-)
you simply don't tell them. People have different tastes..
why do you want to tell them? did they ask for your opinion? if they did then dont lie but if they didnt, its their blog they can write whatever they want, its their space...
I agree with Bakkouz I think u don’t have the right to judge anybody’s especially that u can simply ignore their blogs and don’t read what ever they write ... I sometimes read some blogs I don’t like but still it’s non of my business to judge ...

if u do not like someone's blog u just do do not read it...some people have blogs that are too political..not my cup of tea..so i just do not read their blogs...but i cant say their blogs r bad....this is what a blog is ...a person's personal place...it is none of our business what they say or do....since we do have the option not to visit that blog...if it was forced on us..then i would say it is a different story:) sa7?
You don't say a word..don't like it, don't read it..
Each blog is a reflection to some extent of the blogger and they might take it personal then if that person doesn't hate you, by the time you tell him/her their blog suck you will be hated for sure..
This what makes this community so interesting, it's the variety of thoughts, personalities and ideas..Can you imagine how boring it would be if we all wear similar styles and colors..
    So, be nice :)
"It's in the eye of the beholder".

Well I think blogs are mostly personal, it's your personal space, I mean a lot of people don't care whether we liked their blogs or not as long as they like it. Blogs are personal spaces I guess.

    (Ya maskeen yalli fi bali)

    Tamara
That's what I'm doing, but it's really great to see people's opinions about the same matter

    Sara
Oh come on .. we need a healthy level of self criticism here :) Right? I mean we're not telling people to go jump off a building or something. Maybe we'll help them improve

    Wonders
    Yep, I guess you're right

    KJ
Thanks for the vote of confidence .. (sniff sniff)
I like how you decided that you are no longer going to bother with blogs that you don't find worthy. I should probably do the same, I'm just way too curious

    Bakkouz
Amen to that. I think that's my course of action too

    Za3tar
I'm glad that you're having a good time with Suse. She's a good girl, allah yhanneekom :)
    LOL

    Naryat
Sometimes, actually most of the time. People don't accept criticism. Even when it's indirect. Even when it's subtle .. no matter what you do .. they just get offended
And trust me, I'm not talking about people who actually have something to vent. There are people who are just void! Empty! Bits and piece of copy-paste selves .. yet they're there!

    Simply Me
    Yep, I won't tell anyone :)

    Princess N
That's a very good way to look at it. And I agree with you. Maybe I'll offer my opinion IF I'm asked :)

    Whisperer#2 *J*
Actually, I LOVE your blog. It's so romantic and I find it filled with soft respectful emotions. I love reading everything you write no matter how little it is (hint#1) and no matter how short your articles are at times (hint#2). But your soft respect, and sweet romantic glasses that you have on gives a tingling feeling while reading your blog.

    Simsim
I agree with you, Dima and Bakkouz too, I won't be volunteering any information unless I'm asked

    Noura
    7ader .. 7ader .. I will shut up :)
I know there's a lot of reflections that go along with the what people write. But there's also the crappy wave of "I've got nothing to say" but "I'm going to say it anyway". It irritates me at times

    Jasim
Maybe, but the eye of the beholder is getting sore from all the pencils I try to push in them because of the crap they endure

    Yfa
I know you can :), I also know that you don't belong to the list above
    hehe am with bakkouz,
lots of ppl  told me that i have silly blog, and others said its really nice and fun :)
in anyway its my blog i post what i want in the way i want, we all supposed to do that "i guess".
its about tastes u like some blogs u hate others, u dont have to like all of them and they dont have to match ur taste :P
and am sure that all of us or most of us got insults on his blog :D

A blog shouldn't be attractive and interesting to serve its owner.

I am a new blogger, started recently to share what I find interesting with others, I find it great from so many perspectives.

    > Enhance my bad writing skills, I am supposed to write so many Emails every day to communicate with customers, so I hope this will help me out to clear my mind and write better.

    > Be more confident, I always say that  my English language will stand as a barrier, so I decided to break down that wall

Ah to answer your question, you may buy this book "Blogging for dummies" for people with blogs that sucks from your point of view, and they will get the message, and I won't be upset to send me one if you feel to, I will save the money for something else.
    And that's what I did :) .. lol .. Kidding :)

Hi Qwaider :) .. well , I haven't been in the blogs world for a year so far .. I have NO IDEA what's going on lately .. whose hot and whose not in terms of blogging .. I have a lot of catching up a head of me .. I see things has changed around here as well :)..
Danah ... are you back? Really!!? This is amazing!
Welcome Back .. I'm so happy to see you here
Thanks Qwaider :) .. I'm happy to be back ..
