    Memories....

The question is: Why the use of english if they are targeting jordnaians? Or is just only about image?
Because the message is Universal, it's by Jordanians for Jordanians and for the rest of the world. English language is currently the universal language
Don't get me wrong, but if your target is the jordanian community, I think the message should have been in arabic, in order for it to reach the biggest chunk of the community.

And why would we want to send a message to the rest of the world? Is is a message that we are cool just like you? Or is a message that we know how to speak english?

This doesn't add up, the message is for jordanians who drive daily, and as such it should be targeting those people, not one segment of the society that speaks english..

My point of view(And this is completly from a marketing perspective)

I prefer it the way it is in English.

I love it, thanks for sharing Qwaider!
Mohannad it doesn't seem to be play's project, but they just wanna promote the idea started by an American news show. I agree with Qwaider on this one. This is meant to be a positive message, not we are as cool as you, but we are as human which isn't something to be taken for granted considering how we are being recently portrayed in the US media. That's my brief optimistic thought.

From my realistic side, although (good Morning America) aired this to millions of Americans. The ones who would listen or even watch this type of clip would already believe the message. The ones who won't wouldn't change their mind because their bigotry is deep within.
I also thing the pictures speak for them selves. You don't need to understand English to be touched by the human side of the pictures. Simple people, with simple feelings. Just like everyone else in the world
mohanned, there was an Asian couple in the video. I don't think everyone was Jordanian. Also, English is becoming the official language of Amman, haven't you heard.
If some of you are vigilant enough, you will see that there is a trend in portraying jordanians in a specific way.

In summary, if this message is intended for jordanians it should be in arabic for it to be effective to say the least.

Spanish is sexy, but I don't see it being used in england to send safety messages!
You know what Mohanned? You do have a point.

I hereby Kindly request that Play FM go ahead and repeat this same project but with Arabic instead of English to target more of the local Audience

Thanks for the positive feedback. While I agree that to do the "3 words" segment in arabic would definitely target more people, Play 99.6 is an English music station and we have to stick to English as a rule. There are  a million Arabic stations out there, they should do this idea :). I personally love it, the fact of trying to convey a whole thought with just three words. I have come in to the station and said, "Need My Coffee" or "Want More Sleep" haha.

I agree with Mohanned about the "American" spin to Jordanian image... we only have 3 word messages that have to do with specific topics that make the whole thing very "orientalist"  (for those of you who've studied politics and orientalism, its very much alive in global media). But at the end of the day, Good Morning America featured our country among other Arab ones to show to its AMerican audiences, and thats pretty cool anyway to have our say there for a moment.
Thank you Maha for your visit and for clearing this up. Let me reassure you that we're very proud of all the efforts by everyone to build this nation.
WOW!! Great project and great effort!!
amazing, and i guess that Blog About Jordan Day is the best chance to prove it :)
