I have no idea why some people just love to pass on more and more of this useless NONSENSE! First I would like to say that as a Muslim, I am offended with these preposterous claims. In fact, I think these people are on a specific mission to RUIN the image of Islam. By any means necessary, and sadly so many Muslims just follow them like cattle and forward their JUNK in emails without giving it a moment's thought.
To everyone who forward these lies, have some brains, think before you forward this stuff. This is all nonsense and ridicules Islam more than anything. Please STOP FORWARDING this junk! If you believe in God, love his messenger and have an ounce of pride in your religion STOP IT!
Exhibit -a- Mecca as the center of the world
This map claims that Mecca is the center of the land mass of the world. Which is complete and utter nonsense. In fact, it's FAR from being the center of the land mass. Even by simple vision
Further more, even if it was the center of THIS SPECIFIC map, it' NOT the center of the land mass because earth is rounded which means, if you look at a different map (with say, North America as it's center) it will show Texas as the center of the land mass of the planet!
These maps are inaccurate. They all presume a FLAT WORLD and the world is CURVED therefore the real map is FAR from being correct.
In fact, this map suggests that people in north west America should pray in the South East direction, when in fact Mecca is closer if you direct your face Northward towards the north-pole.
In the "old world" mecca was very far to the left to be the center of the land mass. (which would probably end up being somewhere in Kazakhstan or something like that. Again this is only according to THESE MAPS which are inaccurate. They just follow this convention. (While the Arabs had maps with the top part facing South)
There's more in this email, but I don't want this to make this a titanic post. Just believe me, this is ALL nonsense and completely baseless. There are no scientists doing these stupid calculations, there are morons bent on ruining the image of the RELIGION OF SCIENCE and converting it to superstition and myth.
Memories....
Please, don't get me started on that crazy lunatic called Zaghloul! He's CRAZY, STUPID and knows NOTHING about ANYTHING! In fact he has done more harm than good. And I would HIGHLY advise you not to take everything he says as a given! He's MOSTLY wrong! Read more here
i heard it once in a debate on tv and i tend to believe it is true.. some forwards get on my nerves bil narration wil suspence (wa ktashafa ma athaara dahshataho! inno no need for narration peeps!) but i reckon there is truth to this.
Now because this is a sphere, it's clear that wherever you decide you center of the map is .. then that is your center
Most importantly, that map above, is missing HALF the world, (yes, the pacific ocean)
Your opinion 3ala rasi min fog .. but this is science and there are no opinions here. What's Chakra!!? Can we measure it? Can we detect it?
As I said, 3ala rasi oo 3aini your opinion but your opinion with all due respect is only wishful thinking and is neither a miracle nor a scientific fact.
miracles dont exist u know :P il 3ilm 3and allah bil nihayeh i7na leih ma7mou2een? :D fi ishya ktir akbar nen2eher 3ala il ijtihaad il 5a6e2 feeha wil fatawi illi 3ala jamb w taraf feeha..
You know, if you find the ORIGINAL research I would accept it and I would not only retract this, but would make a post about that too.
Mecca is a holy place, we don't have to add this junk to prove that it is
And for god's sake that map is WRONG ya jama3a... It's missing, it doesn't take the curvature into consideration.
Mind you, the "The Pyramid sits right on the longest on land latitude line and the longest on land longitude line, thus making it in the center of the land mass of the world." as Tesla claimed. But I still think this is wrong
I have threatened my friends who send such forwards by blocking them :D this worked :D. specially those who send the emails saying that if u read this or that u will get 100s of "hasanat" and if you forward it more you will get more :D. some people mix religion with math,,,,sadely
My faith in Allah doesn't require me to know that the ka3bah is in the center of a sphere (which point of a sphere isn't a center anyway)
And about this map - a map is only a projection of the 3-dimensional sphere onto a 2-dimensional surface. Which results in many inaccuracies in sizes of the continents and lands and distances between them. There are many projection methods and it is known which inaccuracies result of each different method. In other words, there is NO 100% correct map of the earth.
Having said that, I do object to using such demeaning words about Dr. Alnajjar. Misguided or mistaken might be better. He is trying to do a service & whether we agree with him or not, he still deserves respect.
1. forwards of religious contents happen to contain a lot of crap which eliminates any slight of belief when things mentioned there are every doubtfuly true...i agree!
2. May it be the centre of the earth geographically or not...why does it piss you or anyone off??! It is great and holly enough to be the qebla of our spirits and prayers being bayt Allah...geography then has no meaning!
3. I will keep ( remember how many arguments u and i had on this for the past 20 months) rejecting and objecting to the way you adress scientists like Dr. Zaghloul...after all he is a man of great internationally recognized science...you don't have to be convinced but you can't call him stupid and such rude names...
4. you're still my pal and you know that...i invite you to reconsider please :)
Thanks :)
In other words, if I am an athiest, I could substitute the whole sujood with standing upside down on my head to discharge the electricity in my body.
*shakes his head in wonder*
As for zaghloul, i think its 2isem 3alla musama, you have to read his books to actually realize the piss poor job of "science" that he does. science is about peer review, backed evidence, aversion to woo. he manages to avert any of that and is more than happy to reference outdated publications that suite his point, i bet you if you can find a reference after the 1970 ... a "geologist" isn't an all knowing scientist so don't be delving into other sciences atleast.
but my main interest here is a sentence am curious in asking u about,
qwaider what do you mean by this ?
"there are morons bent on ruining the image of the RELIGION OF SCIENCE"
can you give me some examples of religious science ?? since thats what i understood from that sentence
That's what made it the religion of science. At least in my view
If all the of the earth's landmasses are fitted together, Mecca is in the center.
If all the of the earth's landmasses are fitted together, Mecca is in the center.
If all the of the earth's landmasses are fitted together, Mecca is in the center.
There is no center of the world! It's all the same! It's a sphere. How are you going to measure the center of a land mass on a sphere that isn't even? And it varies in so many things!?
Let me tell you this. As far as I'm concern, the chance of Mecca coincedently falling near the center of the land, is exactly as much as the chance of any other point on the planet!
In a sphere, the center of gravity is it's core.
Since earth is not a sphere but more elongated around the Equator. That makes gravity greatest at the poles. Mecca is located closer to the equator which forces it to be at a greater distance from the center of the mass of the planet. And since gravity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance that makes it even less the amount of gravity.
Add to that, that there are places like the dead sea. Which are way lower than Mecca and therefore have more gravity.
First I admire your writings ;)
The theory doesn't say that Mecca is the center of the globe as a shpere, this will make no sense as like you said any part could be the center of the globe, the theory or fact if I can say is that Mecca the center of the land, meaning if we put the gathered solid land and attached them together then Mecca will be in the middle, I guess this is the perfect explanation, what do you think?
I believe that Mecca is the center of the world..not because of the above article..but because many other things...I have found some interesting videos on Youtube before coming here.
Anyway..I think the last comment before mine is a sign for me ;)
Another thing to consider, what difference does it make if it was in the center or not? I know it could have been placed in a more hospitable location. But I think the hardship of reaching there is part of the whole experience.
By the way, I did some calculations and found Mecca not to be in the center of the earth but a little bit off center. Which really doesn't mean anything.
Also, if you believe in Plate tectonics, you will discover that even if this is the case today, it's unlikely that it was or will be the case in the future
Hi,
As a Muslims we shouldn't care if Mecca in the center of the world or not. However, if some scientists made some research to prove something, then it is obvious that other scientists will do their job too, either to prove the results of that research or not.
As Muslims, Mecca is in the center of our hearts... and that what does matter!
Thank you very much, that is the bottom line indeed!
Mecca will always be at the center of all our hearts. It doesn't need any credentials. It doesn't even need our faith. ان الله غني عن العالمين
http://www.scribd.com/doc/2282323/Neil-Armstrong-Proved-Makkah-the-Center-of-the-Earth
One last thing if you don't understand it. NASA intentionally deleted this information. Let me guess because the goverment is against Islama and wants to deny everything they can.
First, Neil Armstrong is not a scientist, he's an Astronaut. Which is basically a glorified pilot. He was the first man to set foot on the moon. He's in no position to make any claims. That's "IF" he made these claims and I guarantee you, he didn't!
Second, this article you cite, is complete and utter bullshit! Mecca is not the center of the earth, there is no radiation coming out of it. There is NO SUCH THINGS, and neither ISLAM the religion, or the scholars make such preposterous unsubstantiated claims.
Before you come here and ask me to do some research, and claim that these have been "proven", do a little more research than a simple Google query. That's NOT research. That's Web Search, any 5 year old can do a search on the web and come with "some" results that show in front of them. Does that make these results facts? Or truth? Not by a long shot! It's only the kind of garbage that floats on the internet! That's all.
NASA Doesn't delete junk like this, They're not interested in pursuing fairy tales and doctored images. That's not their job. It's the job of logical people to educate the public that certain things are just IMPOSSIBLE and can not happen.
As Muslims, we should be the most resistant to superstition and fairy tales. We have a code of life and ethics. We have a guide to get us out from the darkness (many scholars say ignorance) to the light. We shouldn't allow this junk to pollute our great religion. It doesn't add anything, but in fact, takes away from the greatness of Islam.
Mecca is not the center of the Islamic faith. Nothing more. It's just a piece of land. Nothing more.
It's a shame really that people call others Kuffar for disagreeing
Trust me, and the "incomplete" sience, Mecca is not the center of the world. But it is the center of our hearts
Something else, Mr. Qwaider: isn't better to shut your mouth up and seem fool than open it and remove all doubts!!!?
Finally, to whoever dare to BLA DOUBT BLA about Scientific proof and evidences in Coran, do this first:
1. Learn Arabic language
2. Master it
3. Learn Coran and WHY, WHEN every verse had happened
4. Discuss with open mind even if you disagree
5. Say Sobhana Allah when you face paranormal phenomena
First, Abu Jahl was the father of 3ikremah ibn Abi Jahl, who is a great Sa7abi and despite his father’s rejection of Islam. He was called “Abu Jahl” by one of Islam’s enemies at the time “Al Waleed ibn Al Mogheera” who happens to also be the Father of Khalid ibin el Waleed (The cousin of Abu Jahl)
Second, what I said is purely scientific, and there is nothing foolish about it. It’s well established, and documented.
Third, Islam and the Holy Quran (Quran not Coran) NEVER, EVER said Mecca is the center of the world. NOT by a long shot. Not even indirectly, not even implied to it. Not even remotely. So please, don’t say it’s in Quran. No level of knowledge or mastery of the Arabic language could change that FACT.
This is a great religion, don’t pollute it with this garbage. Please.

People, mecca is the center of our spiritual Islamic world. It doesn't need to be in any special place for it to remain in our hearts, minds and prayers.
Proofs in science may be proved wrong anyday. Think of medieval scientists ... and think of the years some of them dominated science with their discoveries ...
Salamalaikum
Again, Mecca is the center of our belief as Muslims. That is enough. It's the house of the lord and our Qibla. That's enough for us.
The rest is worthless additions by people who hate Islam to fool Muslims into believing this type of supernatural baseless junk
I am writing a paper for school and wanted to use fraze "my school is a Mecca for immigrants." I am sorry if I will make you mad, but I grew up in Czech Republic with Polish parents. I did not know anthing about the islam or city of Mecca, but we used the fraze quite often, when we wanted to refer to something as a center. I promise I will try to find out why are we using.
YOU WROTE
(By the way, I did some calculations and found Mecca not to be in the center of the earth but a little bit off center. Which really doesn't mean anything.
Also, if you believe in Plate tectonics, you will discover that even if this is the case today, it's unlikely that it was or will be the case in the future)
I agree it doesn't matter if in the center or not, but
what do you mean by some calculation and what center you was looking for.
my friend you can have it two way, there is no center and after some calculation you done is not in the center??????
can you please publish your genius calculation for the benefit of us all
This article is a misinformation, do not allow this idiot to shake your faith in the One and Only Creator, Allah Subhanahu wa taala. The holy city of Mecca is "Golden mean point" of planet earth, and the center of world map. It has been scientifically proven that mecca is the "phi" of our planet. And here is why :)
Golden Ratio (number of the creation of design and esthetic) = Phi constant = 0,61... or 1,6...
According to the calculations of the latitudes and longitudes of the world's map, planet earth’s golden ratio point is exactly at Mecca, which is considered the holy city of Islam, and the most visited piligrimadge site in the world and throughout history. And weither you like it or not, the coordinates east longitude +39,82 and the north latitude +21,42 shows that the Kaaba and the holy area is at earth’s golden mean point, you can verify this by applying the coordinates in Google Earth. And here is the correct calculation :
90° + 21,42 = 111,42 Furthermore 111,42 / 180 = 0,61...
And Vice versa 180 / 111,42 = 1,6...
180° + 39,82 = 219,82 Furthermore 219,82 / 360 = 0,61...
And Vice versa 360 / 219,82 = 1,6...
Mecca’s distance to the poles / The distance between North and South poles = 0,61...
Mecca’s distance to the North Pole / Mecca’s distance to the South Pole = 0,61...
Mecca’s distance (west) to the equinox line / The Earth’s perimeter = 0,61...
Mecca’s distance (west) to the equinox line / Mecca’s distance (east) to the equinox line = 0,61...
The inner ratios of the lines that passes through Mecca and combining the poles and the equinoxes = 0,61...
---------------
ALSOOOOOOOOO
---------------
The holy Qur'an mentioned mecca ONE time only. The verse that tells about Mecca and Kaaba is Ayah 96 from the 3rd chapter, Sourat "Al-Imran" (Arabic: آل عمران.
In this verse the Almighty Creator clearly informs us that
(إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ).
Meaning: " Verily, the first house (of worship) appointed to the people is the one in Bakkah (Currently known as Mecca) full of blessing and guidance to the worlds"
Now for the mind blowing fact. In its original form (Arabic language), this verse is formed of 47 letters. Miracleously! the word "Bakkah" (Original name of Mecca) turns out to be the golden ratio of the verse!!!!!!!
And here is the correct calculation:
The number of the letters until the word Mecca / The number of the verse’s total letters = 29 / 47 = 0,61...
