If we look closely at the sexual attraction of both genders we notice a very odd thing. Males are turned off by a woman who is -with- another man. While women are turned on by a man who is -with- another woman!

    Sexual Attraction

I know there are many exceptions to this observation. But I've seen this more than I can disregard it.

Some consider it jealousy, some consider it competitiveness, but one thing is certain. It's there and it's very observable. I've noticed this more in the eastern cultures but this doesn't mean I have not seen it in the west.

It's very odd to see that women tend to be attracted more to men who are engaged, involved or married. Than the abundant available men. Somehow the one who's in a relationship seems to be more attractive.

"He's with her, there must be something good about him". This is how many women think. Sometimes purely out of jealousy. While for guys the notion that "She's with him" is enough to turn most men off. (Don't believe what you see in the movies about how Mr#2 was attracted to the lady who was out with the jerk)

I might be completely hallucinating here, (that coffee I had this morning sure tasted funny) but this observation kept coming back to me, day after day. It's just forcefully presenting it self. Women are attracted to men who are with other women!

This probably explains why most men don't shy from furnishing all their previous affairs on their resume the minute the apply to the courtship of a lady. Alternatively, most women discovered through their amazing intuition that they shouldn't be mentioning much about their history since it is a turn off.

Many would say this is one of the social double standards, to be completely frank, I'm a big proponent of double standards here. You just can't treat men and women the same way. It just doesn't work like that. Each has it's own insecurities and sensitivities and it's just not possible to produce one-size-fits-all social treatment.

Similarly, women are attracted more to guys who are not attracted to them. I'm not sure the same is true about men. But trust me, that doesn't stop a guy from following a chick back home :)

    Memories....

I actually COMPLETELY disagree with you on this one! I HATE this kind of competition with other women! If the guy is taken, I don't even CARE to look in his face! The bastard could have picked me!
    Yes, you are hallucinating.

I agree with the second part: "Women like men with other women."

But, if a women is with a man already, it doesn't change my opinion about her.
i say ur hanging around with the wrong people... w double standards does not mean treating males and females differently, it means applying different standards when u do... u should be honest with both, and you should satisfy both, keef 3ad? use ur imagination (actually that is different from women to men to kids to house wives to policemen to doctors...)

Girls always look for what's not in their hands..
The more attractive his girl is, the more girls feel like getting him.. it becomes more like a game or a challenge.. they play for fun, nothing more!

And I doubt that when she finally gets him, and the game is over, it would still feel as much fun... she'll get him for the sake of challenge and control more than anything else!
I completely agree with you Dima, what you said is so so wise!

Girls dont trust their own best girlfriends when talking about Boyfriends!
I disagree, i don't care if a guy's single or not, if he attracts me it's just because HE does. However if he's engaged or married i would run the opposite direction.

and i don't think that it is a turn off to guys from what i've seen. you can't get guys to stop looking/staring at girls accompanied by a male most of the times, like ALWAYS... so NO! :)

as for double standards, they are called double when you set constraints on females and just allow males to do what ever they want.

    Yes, you are totally right!
I hate to say this, but what made me notice this is one of my acquintances. If any of her female friends implied that she likes someone or about to be in a relashionship with him, the other one starts to concentrate with that guy, to follow him, and try to get him or at least break up between him and her friend.
    Then, she avoids him!

All of my friends that know this girl are so annoyed with her, and we concluded that sure she is abnormal. But afterwards, I noticed that many other girls, including me, start giving the man another eye or being a little curious about him even subconsiously, whenever he got involved with another woman or girl in a relashionship.
I don't know about men regarding this point.
