Leopard is Vista!

You heard it right, Apple's new OS Leopard is Vista. I first suspected that Apple has copied everything in Vista when it crashed the first time. (To tell you the truth, I haven't seen Tiger crash, but Leopard crashed so much that I suspected I was running Vista).

I'm just kidding of course, but Oliver Rist, one of the most respected colleagues in the industry isn't!

So if you know someone who downgraded from Vista to XP, pat them on the back, they're not alone. Leopard users are downgrading back to Tiger!

Oliver is so ticked off of leopard (and Vista) that he letting it all out in a hilarious technical post (if there is such a thing) but the point it. He breaks it down to the ding-dongs in both Microsoft and Apple ESPECAILLY on stupid good for nothing features that are being shipped!

I'm not sure what ticks me off more about Leoptard (I can't take credit for that nickname—some Brit coined it): the fact that so many of the semi-important changes don't work, the fact that Apple turned a stable OS into a crash-happy glitz fest, or that the annoying, scruffy Live Free or Die Hard actor infecting my TV (and our Web site, by the way) is pretending that Leopard is better than Vista. It's not better than Vista. Leopard is Vista. And Tiger is better than both of them!

Who is the asshole who decide Aero (The stupid little glass thingies for window titles) is important!? Or that it's even worth it!? Or that it will enhance productivity? That is a seriously HUGE DOH!

He also mentions Aero, networking, backup, usability in more sucky similarities between Vista and leopard

Anyway, I really recommend this article, read it. And follow the de facto advice of everyone in the industry these days... WAIT FOR SP1 (or in the case of leopard SP3 or 4)

I'm not any more against Leopard than I am against Vista. Both of them got too much wrong. I'll close with a little tidbit for that pudgy PC guy in the Apple commercials who's so sad because his users are "downgrading" to XP. Well, maybe they are—I know I did. But I'm writing this on an XP workstation right now because my Mac is busy reinstalling Tiger. Leopard can keep its glitzy crash-prone spots. I'll stick with the OS that really "just works"—for now.

Once I had a discussion with a friend that is more software related, he was telling me how we - engineers - suck in creating hardware and they - software people - really need good hardware to implement the ideas they have in their heads.

well well, looks like software people totally need new courses in how to design softwares! the hardware is MORE THAN ENOUGH to handel twice the vista load, and yet, we get such results.

the xbox360 has 3 cores and no company yet was able to run in 3 cores full performance! thats really really sad!
the PS3 has a CELL prcoessor and yet a company as big as KONAMI has SLOW DOWNS in their games on the PS3!!!! ((god im gonna faint!!)

Software people, u gotta review some basics to cope with the hardware!

I am sorry for being a little bit forward in the comment. But since im taking programming as a hobby myself, I feel frustrated too.

I think its time to see Qwaider-OS in the market ;)
