I'm sick of this! How is this news or even TV worthy? Let alone prime time TV!

Yes, it's not acceptable for a family to help the daughter of some other family to run away from her parent's house, but HELLO this is USA! Teenagers run from their parents house EVERYDAY! Some are found others are never found. Teen pregnancies are a common thing a sad reality, but it exists!

Let alone people who abuse these teens and convert them into prostitutes, strippers and worse. This is the country of wonders. A girl can sell her flesh before she's old enough to buy alcohol, because you know you don't want her to do it while intoxicated!

So What happened to the girl? Was she tortured? Hurt? Forced to work in any capacity? Anything!?

As for the Arabic culture, there is such a thing that is well known and it's called "Khatifeh" (Kidnapped marriage) Where the girl ARRANGES with her future husband to have her kidnapped (Circassians do  it, it's also widely practiced in Lebanon). Yes she might get ex-communicated by her family. And yes she might be disowned. But it does exist and it happens! And it doesn't make the news in the news in Jordan. Imagine making it on prime time TV here in the US!

Dear Arabs who think you're so righteous! Had this been the story of some chick from farm-land Midwest state. No one would have said anything! Had she travelled to Darfur to do some humanitarian aid for her Sudanese boyfriend who she met over the Internet. You wouldn't have said a thing! And Dr Phil would be interviewing her to praise her courage!

Another scenario, had this been An ARAB WOMAN, (say Bahraini) who flees to be with her American lover in the US (Say A marine) THE WHOLE WORLD would start preaching us on women's rights and how we should give them the freedom to do what they want.

But she's not Arab, and he's not a marine, he's an Arab, a Palestinian!

But this girl went to Palestine! Cleverly/devilishly covered by the western media as "Middle east"

This girl went few feet away from the location where Rachel Corey was bulldozed into the holy land!

This girl went after love with a -god forbid- an ARAB!

God! The level of hypocrisy the media has in this country!

I PERSONALLY know 3 girls who were mothers by the age of 18! Two were HIV+ and worked in a Java coffee stand. A third ran away from home and ended in a cult practicing sex for pot and roaming naked until the "Family" was raided by the FBI in eastern Washington farm. She lost her son's custody to her own mother.  Ask me, I'll send you her pictures! That obviously didn't make the news!

Now do I support the idea that little teenage girls leaving their parent's house? Absolutely not! But if this story makes the news then EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE who left their parent's house, later to come back with scars that last a lifetime, those should be on hypocritical Dr Phil prime-time too!

The right wing American websites are already abuzz with "warnings to parents" so their sweet little sixteen year old sweethearts don't end up as a "veiled or Niqabi" Palestinian housewives for some fanatic Islamic terrorist. They puke their hatred on these sites and found another opportunity to demonise the whole culture. It doesn't matter if you're Muslim or Christian to these folks, you're an Arab! You're a freakin Arab!
