Heads and Necks!




    One of the most amazing words I heard during my Katb Kitab, were the wise words of the Islamic cleric who performed the marriage ceremony, it was in direct contradiction with the following:

    "The man may be the head of the family, but the woman is the neck, and the neck can move the head in ANY direction it wants"

    But the really simple cleric uttered some amazing words, to indicate that it's really NOT a game, it's not a competition, it's not about domination, it's not really a tug of war... it was way deeper!

    Wedding crasher and other funny musings!


    Ahhhh, the bliss of Marriage took me away from blogging, but all for good reasons. Turns out, this marriage business is seriously a lot of work!

    We had so much fun during our wedding, that I have no problem doing it one more time, (as long as I get to have the same bride)

    Guess who showed up to the wedding! A real, flesh and blood wedding crasher, not a make belief, not a movie star, not Vince Vaughn, A REAL Wedding crasher!

    But first, I would like to thank everyone who emailed, commented, Messaged, SMSsed or called to congratulate us. Thank you all for your kind wishes, they meant a lot to us.

    As for the pictures, Maioush has a very strict policy regarding sharing pictures online; She doesn't feel comfortable sharing her pictures on the blog or elsewhere. To Males or females alike, and I completely agree with her. We will be keeping these to an absolute minimum. I hope everyone will understand our concern for privacy.

    The Big Day

    It's no secret, today, is the big day. The last day in single-hood. The end of one chapter in my life and the beginning of another. I just can't help but look at this last page and find it completely blank. With a tiny message at the bottom saying "This page was left blank on purpose"

    Maybe it was left blank because there's just so much going on that it's better left unsaid, it's better left for the next chapter.

    Yesterday, was quite a day, one of the best in my whole existence....

    But before the climatic finish of the day, we had to go through the notions of going to the courthouse to get a marriage license, and seeing all the amazing numbers over there.

    I don't want to call cultural supremacy -again-! But one look around me, made me so proud of my culture, with ALL it's shortcomings.

    LA ... The Arrival

    I just checked into my awesome room. This time I decided to go all out and get something really nice.

    My trip was fantastic, I was late to get to the airport, but all went well. From parking my car to the plane 15 minutes including checking in.

    I arrived at the gate to fine everyone boarding, I hopped in and 2 hours later, I'm in Sunny LA :)

    Although this is still not the case back home in 3rd world countries but this is the shape of things to come. Landlines are going to be relics of the past! They'll be stationed right next to the VHS tapes, and audio "compact cassette" tapes in the museum of human evolution.

    I've always been a fan of Google Toolbar, it is the perfect addition to every browser. What it does is fill in the gap left by browser developers.     When angry, Sue!

    Hypothetical situation,

    What would you do if someone stole money from you and ran away from the country where you can't follow? Would you let it just pass or would you seek legal action?

    You would in fact be encouraged to go ahead and seek legal action, get a court order and possibly seize any property that was left behind by the defendant. That is the law. You wouldn't go and break into their house and steal the contents. That's considered theft. Breaking and entering!

    So what would you do to someone who creates a short film filled with hate, lies and promotes violence against the general public of Muslims all around the world?

    What would you do to someone who falsified accounts, taking words and verses out of their context to serve a specific motive of promoting hate and generalization against Muslims and Islam? What do you do?

    You sue the hell out of them! And demand damages for every Islamic business that goes bankrupt due to stereotyping. Every Muslim woman that get harassed. And every Muslim child who feels the bitterness of discrimination.

    That's the civilized way.
