Going back to Sunna

The greatest minefield you can ever hope to navigate. Is certainly issues that has to do with Religion, but more specifically, the major sources of religion. For Islam, these have been well defined as: Quran and Sunna. But in that lies tow major issues.

The first issue is the proper interpretation of Quran, the second one, and the most problematic is Sunna. For many reasons the most problematic one of them being what should make it in, and what Mustn't, shouldn't and logically couldn't be of the Sunna.

Read what I'm saying carefully, I'm NOT advocating denouncing Sunna and not recognizing it, I'm specifically talking about what should be considered part of the Sunna, and what needs to be left out! Specifically parts that are inappropriate, illogical, defy science and basic common sense.

Basically, 1300 years after Al Bukhari finished his Amazing Sahih, it's about time we got a new Bukhari. Someone to clean the Sunna and the Hadith of all the strange, impure, weird and what defies logic.

Hate at first sight!

Exactly like the way people experience love at first sight, if there is such a thing. Today, I experienced the complete opposite. I wasn't doing any of the hating though.

It was so awkward when you feel that someone actually hates your guts. Not for anything you did or said. But right out of the blue, they're hating you.

Or perhaps my reputation preceded me! I don't really know!

Reverse immigration

As I get my self ready to go say goodbye to a couple that have decided they've had enough with this expatriate lifestyle and decided to pack all, and go back.

Never before has the number of people "going back" been so large. So many people I know personally have had it with taxes, inflation, rising prices, bad schooling, ever deteriorating social atmosphere.

But is the grass really greener on the other side!?

Sparkling!!

A sparkling new sever has taken the huge burden of hosting this blog!

Dual Quad-core XEON, 2GB EEC-RAM, tons of HD space, running Windows Server 2008 with SQL 2005, IIS 7 and every bell and whistle out there...

Can you feel the blazing speed!? It's still processing 70GB worth of logs, and 53GB worth of SQL files. But should be done soon!

So, how did you meet?

By far the question most people ask me everytime I say, "I'm getting married" is "So, how did you meet"

I have no idea what people gain by knowing such things. Like, would they be able to give the relationship a duration or a period before something happens? Or is it to judge people as in ... If it was through family, then good, if not, then bad!

I honestly don't mind the question, but it makes me wonder!

Previewing: American Teen (2008)

I just lost 2 hours of my life watching this complete worthless junk as it follows the life of five teenagers as they graduate high-school!

There's really nothing to see. I mean, one guy is so freakin boring and weird no wonder he's such an outcast!

Excuse me, but the lives of stupid, spoiled, lazy American teens is just NOT that interesting! In fact, most people around the world would envy these kids, there's no Drama here! There's no genuine struggle. There's no despair, there is no freakin story!

Hurting at the pump? Gas saving tips!

So many people are really hurting at the pump these days. I'm filling my Nissan Murano with around $70 every week. While others are paying upward of  $100 per week to fill their gas guzzlers.

My stupid neighbor went out and bought a Hummer H2, it's his only car now and he's really suffering with less than 7MPG his car is giving him

I've been a good driver for over a decade, I was able to devise a great way to drive more efficiently.. I had a very sensitive instrumentation computer that I installed on my car that tells me exactly how much gas is being used depending on my driving technique. I also started keeping very detailed records of how far gas is taking me. How long it will take for the gas to run out.

I was able to save quite a bit over the years, and now, I'll share these tips with you. Hopefully they'll assist you in these tough times

Would you get a ticket for this!?

This is the funniest thing ever!

California and Washington states have declared that starting July 1st, people driving without having a headset on will be ticketed by traffic police. Nothing major there since the good folks in Jordan have had that in effect for more than two years.

Here's what's cool! Bluetooth headset online retailer headsets.com, decided to "award" anyone who got a ticket with a FREE, (You heard it right) FREE top of the line, $149 plantronics 925 headset that you can't help but drool over no matter how many (ok, I admit I have 5 of these).

Crackdown on cracks!

Flint, Michigan follows in the footsteps of Jordanian police in cracking down on males with loose saggy pants showing their, ... ehm .. boxers!

The gold-rush theory

It doesn't take much for anyone to realize that of all the people who travelled the world in search of gold, only a handful that were actually able to make more than their expenses. In fact, some people travelled the world, sold all their belongings and left their families in pursuit of gold and riches.

But seriously, Only a handful made anything significant. It came a huge expense they paid. A huge sacrifice. But for the majority, they sacrificed way more than what they got.

But that's not the first, (or last) time in history where you could see the "Gold rush theory" in action, in all is grotesque glory. Just about every society on the face of the planet, have suffered from it, in one form or another.

Here are some examples!

Making people happy

Is a total myth, no one can take responsibility or a commitment on making someone else happy. EVEN If they wanted to. Although, happiness in my book is a transient state, it's not the "ever after" kind. But we tend to oscillate between happiness and misery from time to time, but most of the time, we hover around the gray neutral zone.

But, it's really troubling when you start thinking that there are people who depend on you as a source of happiness, and consequently, blame you in the case of their misery.

See, the way they're said is "Your happiness", and "Your sadness". They're yours, you need to own up to them. You're responsible for them. You have well within you the capabilities to turn one to the other. It's all a matter of perception!

Previewing: Hancock (2008)

Just when I thought they can't make anything good this Summer. I was pleasantly surprised again that there was yet another AMAZZZING flick to be seen! This is probably the BEST Summer at the movies in History!

Will Smith, focusing on being at the #1 spot for the 4th of July weekend ended up in one of the most entertaining movies of this year, and in fact, of all times. Hancock!

The best part, the previews don't show NOTHING from the main story! I was SOOOOOOOO shocked at the twist of events. So Shocked and excited at the same time that producers are finally getting it. Trailers, should NEVER be a condensed version of the movie! They need to be appetizers! If they become the main course, the whole experience becomes worthless!
